So Wednesday was the AFI live at liquidroom. I met up with Chris at the Takeshita Doori Eki and we went to liquidroom, where I found out that Mucc were support act which made me really happy, because I wanted to see Mucc live again anyway, so two really good bands when I expected only one = happy little aki
Since Chris had an early hundred ticked and mine was mid 200 we weren't exactly front row, but fairly near to the front. Since it was my first American Rock show I was wandering what the audience would be like, and I expected the worst, and pretty much got the worst. Drunk American GI's with no brains but tall, dumb and drunk...what a combination. They were pissing off staff even before Mucc began to play!!!! People like that give foreigners in Japan a bad name......Especially the Americans, which is the reason why I turned to Chris and said...if anybody asks.. YOU ARE CANDADIAN *ggg* which a lot of American people with brains do nowerdays anyway. So yeah...they were a nerve wracking bunch. When Mucc came on me and approx. 6 other people out of let's say 800 were cheering, but us six did a good job supporting them (^_^) and Mucc still seemed to enjoy themselves pretty much and pulled of a good show. Since I haven't listened to a lot of Mucc lately it was simply a lot of headbangning for me, which is never a bad thing. While Tatsurou wanted to speak one of the very drunk probably American Foreigners started shouting that he was disappointed and that he thought he was going to see a Rock band and stuff. I so wanted to punch that guy out. Things like....Misbehavior like that really makes me ANGRY, cuz Tatsurou might have understood that insult and that made me feel really bad.
During the brake they tried to set up something like a stage for AFI but it was only their logo and stuff...pretty boring, nothing special at all. But when Davey Havoc came on stage and started to sing...the magic worked (^_^) Christ, that guy has an unbelievable stage presence, he sucks you right in and you can't let go of him. Not that the other members were just standing around doing nothing, they were putting on a really good show, still Davey Havoc is something special. With his glitter make-up.....whey is everybody stealing my make-up ideas?????....and that thing he has going on with the mike cable. He kinda winds up in it and stuff, really wicked, sometimes you wonder if he's going to strangle himself with that thing (^_~) My friend Tai told me about the live in Munich she went to and that Davey had walked on the audience, and I was wandering if he was going to do that in Japan, too....and yes, he did. This is something really amazing to see, cuz it's very different from the usual stage diving (^_^) then he just sat in the masses and sang to the back rows, which was really awesome, because by then Chris and I were standing just in front of the first roll bar, cuz the mosh pit was a bit violent for my taste and all the crowd surfing is a pain in the ass when you are at least 15 cm taller than everybody else. Besides that...I don't really like violent mosh pits even though it is fun to watch, but we had fun "back there" too, so nothing to worry about.
The live was good, but really short. AFI played only for an hour, which was pretty disappointing, but I am happy that I had the chance to see them live and actually would love to see them live again. They are good (^___^) and they played all of my fav songs...even a The Cure cover (I forgot the name of the song...again......you can't blame me....names just don't stick with me)
Totally dehydrated we made our way to the Eki again and went home. Ahhh what a live (^_^)

I was in a really bad mood the last two days and here comes the reason. I went to ROCK maykan to see my friend Dyura on stage with her band diabolica. Well of course seeing her live didn't get me into a bad mood. It was a really cool thing to see her on stage, cuz I always get excited when I see friends on stage. When I arrived at Rock maykan I was pretty surprised when the guy wanted money from me, cuz the original plan had been that she made me a guest so I wouldn't have to pay at all, but something went wrong, so I was like, okay, whatever and pays the 2500 to get in. After the live it turned out that they really made a mistake and that Dyura insists on giving me the money back.
They were up first. They actually play a really fast gothic metal type, too bad that they have use a drum machine, cuz they haven't found a drummer yet. If you like Cradle of Filth you will like diabolica, too. I love their singles "diabolic phenomenon" and "lucifer's illuminaty". She's a pretty good growler (^_^). It was pretty exciting seeing her all dressed and made up (^_^) she has this ultra long hair and I was always fearing that it might get wrapped around the guitar strings, but nothing like that happened (^_^) Too bad that they had only one person supporting them (T_T) they need more fans.
When they left the stage I basically sat a round and waited for Dyura to come upstairs (backstage is downstairs at ROCK maykan) watched two more bands, which weren't my kinda thing at all, when Dyura finally came upstairs to say hello. We chitchatted a bit, she introduced me to her fellow band member, who looks very different without makeup (o___O) I gave her the German sweets which I had bought for her shortly before the live at Shibuya Garden Supermarket and then left, cuz I still had to write my speech about Germany for Friday.
By then my right eye was already giving me a hard time. Yeah everyone, who ever has been to ROCK maykan, knows that their aircon is a killer. Even in summer I'd advice you to bring along a sweater. Well, I didn't freeze to death, but the aircon gave me conjunctivitis (when you eye gets really red and scratchy) which is a real pain in the ass, cuz you can't see and you can't close your eyes either, cuz that is a nerve wracking feeling, too. Therefore I hate Rock maykan with a passion now.
This actually fucks up all my make-up plans for the weekend, cuz now I have to wear glasses.

Monday 2 weeks ago I went to a metal live of a friend's band, I hoped to find the data cable so I could upload the pictures, but I can't so I guess I left it at my parents' home. You will have to deal with a none picture report for now, but I will upload the picture and animated gif as soon as I find that darn cable!
Here you go: 3 friend and me stuffed us into a friends car for a one and a half hour ride to the venue. Yeah we actually went that far for a live, cuz we really wanted to see them live! So up up we went on our little ride.
Finally arriving at the venue we felt as if we were 14 again...thinking that we were really cool standing in one of those really typical metal venues in small towns. Very funny feeling, but yeah....we really stuck out. Felt like in a zoo (only the other way round) (^_^)
Anyways....it took a while till our friend was on stage...We arrived around 10 or 9:30 somethingish and the live didn't really start until midnight, so we had some serious drinking to accomplish, but we went fairly easy and watched the people around us...mainly giving us a good laugh (^_^)
When Perfect Symmetry started I took some pictures and stuff, but as already mentioned...not for you to see yet (^_^)
This band really surprised me. I mean I knew that it was not gonna be this constant growling kind of metal they were playing, but I didn't expect the vocal to be a good singer, at all. I don't know why, but that guy really took me by surprise. All in all I really like their style. It's hard to explain, since I don't know any metal bands, so I really can't compare them to anyone. You will have to trust me and just go and catch them live if you can (^_^)
The venue was shit though. The box-towers were standing before the fucking stage? Who the fuck does something moronic like that? You couldn't see the whole band if you were not literally standing right in front of them! That really really sucked. The sound sucked, too, but that was not the guys fault. Christ that venue just sucked!!!
The crowd was great though. Alcohol and the fact that Perfect Symetry are a good band made them show their appreciation by head banging, crowd surfing and usual metal or rock live stuff like that. It was a really nice live and since I love to go to lives you can imagine how happy it made me that I actually enjoyed it.
We made our way home fairly early and I fell asleep in the car snoring away the ride (^_^)
I think my friends dropped me off at my place something like 4 a.m. ish.
I had a really nice tight sleep after that, my ears slightly ringing like after every live I don't use mimisei (ear plugs - why the fuck do I come up with the Japanese word first?) at. But since small live houses in Germany are not as loud as small live houses in Tokyo it wasn't really deafening (^_^)
I wish there was a real live scene in Germany, so these guys could gain even more fans!!! But unfortunately there is none (-_-)
